Losing a loved one is one of the most stressful things a person can endure. During this time of grief and despair, making critical decisions about funeral arrangements and dealing with the associated finances are the last things the bereaved should have to endure.

Pre-planning eases the grieving process for your loved ones by addressing the extensive details and overwhelming decisions that will need to be handled when you pass. You may be surprised to know that making funeral arrangements can require as many as 125 decisions be made. That’s no small task for people who are grieving and under extreme emotional stress. Choose your favorite hymns and readings for the service. Instead of the eulogist telling somber stories, you could request that he or she share your favorite jokes or humorous anecdotes. Whatever your preferences, pre-planning allows you to outline them all in advance. You can even opt to pre-pay for your funeral to lock in current pricing, but there is no obligation to do so.
