Obituary of Tamara Rae Fullman
Please share a memory of Tamara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tamara Rae Fullman(Tammy) was born on December 2nd, 1968 to Raymond and Joyce Fullman in Chicago, Illinois. Tammy was very energetic as a child and would draw attention everywhere she went.
Tammy attended Greene Street Friends elementary school in Germantown, and transferred to Wyncote elementary school when her parents moved to Cheltenham. She later attended Cedarbrook Middle school where she flourished as an athlete in track and field. Tammy broke several records at the school, and held the 40 yard dash record for 28 years. Tammy also ran in Penn Relays during that time.
Tammy attended Cheltenham High School in 1983. She was one of the most popular girls in the school. During her years in high school, she worked several part-time jobs from retail to waitressing. Tammy also would babysit for her younger brother Kevin, whom she adored.
In 1987, Tammy attended Spelman College in Atlanta, and graduated in 1991 with a degree in Psychology. Tammy made some lifelong friends at Spelman, while cultivating her her knowledge of business and interpersonal relationships.
After graduation, Tammy worked from Entry Level( Direct Care Staff) all the way up the corporate ladder to Executive Director of ATA by age 30! Unfortunately, in 2003 Tammy developed serious medical issues that forced her to leave her full-time job at ATA. With more free time she turned her focus to entrepreneurship, and started investing primarily in Real Estate. By the end of her life Tammy accumulated 4 properties(including her home in North Wales), that amounted to a sizeable estate.
Tammy had a high passion for shopping and a keen eye for high fashion and interior design. She loved to shop for friends and family, and constantly surprised them with new items. She also loved to cook signature dishes, as well as dine at upscale restaurants.
Tammy traveled extensively, inside and outside the country; she ventured to places like Morrocco, Spain, London, St. Martin, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Miami, just to name a few. Tammy loved the beach, and always wanted to ride jet skis everywhere they were available. She also frequently visited family in Chicago, as recently as last Thanksgiving.
Tammy was extremely family-oriented and regularly spread love to close friends and family. Despite her " no nonsense" attitude, she imparted knowledge and wisdom to everyone around her. Those that were close to Tammy knew about her cats, Snowy and Jiggy. Snowy and Jiggy played a huge role in Tammy's life for over a decade.
Tammy is survived by her father Raymond, her brother Kevin, her god brothers Richard and Joe, her god children(Richard, David, Luqmon, and Jasmine), her close friends(Daloa, Felicia, Sloan, and Tammy), her godmothers Elsie, Roberta, and Beverly, her aunts Emma and Dorothy, and a large host of other friends and family!
