Avan and I used to be in a relationship many years ago. I’m shocked to find news of him like this. For his family who were very sweet and kind to me, I would like to share some memories.
I remember Avan’s eyes always lit up when he spoke about his passion for video game design, music, and Pokémon. Not many people have that ambition and passion for things they love. Like some of the other’s mentioned, he always made sure you had a good time and would give you his full attention. He was present in genuine in every conversation. Avan had many sides to him and being vulnerable and honest with himself was a side I found very special and admirable. I admired that he wasn’t afraid to express himself with fashion. And that he embraced his identity which can be confusing at times. But for Avan, he was able to adapt and fit in different social scenes.
He was sweet, genuine, and had a big heart for his family. As young adults/kids, complaining about our parents is common. But speaking highly of them or lovingly despite any disagreements is a rarity. Avan spoke about his family like that in a gentle and loving way, no matter what fights or disagreements he got into. He ended such conversations with love for his family always, and that’s something I respected greatly.
Launching his clothing line, collaborating with a label and releasing music on Spotify, creating music videos- Avan wasn’t just a young man with dreams. He pursued them and was able to accomplish the milestones he set for himself.
Avan definitely had a positive role in my early years of self discovery. I’m wishing all the best for his family.

Avon was a beautiful soul! He had an adventurous spirit and “Zest” for life! His infectious smile warmed your soul… Here’s a picture of Avan when he lived in Atlanta.. loving on his Aunt Leslie and Uncle Herb just for a brief moment, sharing his energy and vigor for all that life had to offer him…

The first time I met A’Van I was greeted with such kindness and hospitality, I could tell immediately he was a genuine great person. We met through music, and he was super talented, and he always had a bright uplifting energy about him. Ge always made sure you were having a good time if you were around him. That’s 1 thing I won’t forget. Gone but never forgotten. Rip to a beautiful soul

One of my earliest memories of A'van when he was about 4 or 5- years-old. We're in the car all the kids quietly chilling when Wanksta by 50 Cent comes on the radio. Immediately, A'van begins to loop the beat he goes,
" Da -Da -Da.-Da- da-da-da-da"(you know the beat) for a good minute and a half. He was really getting that beat until Uncle got unerved and told him that was enough. I loved his energy. I remember thinking A'van absolutely loves Music. And he certainly carried that love into adulthood. A'van is missed dearly. We have him and his family in our hearts always. -April Edwards
