William Anthony Piper
May 6, 1979 – February 15, 2025
William Anthony Piper was born on May 6, 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Dolores and William Piper who were delighted with his arrival. The family moved from Philadelphia to Wyncote in 1984 where he was educated in the Cheltenham Township School District. At age 14, William started his first job working at the Cedarbrook Country Club. He always loved sports and played various positions in football, track and field and the pole vault. William was elected class president where he represented Cheltenham as an ambassador to Hillary Clinton during her visit to the school. He graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1997. Upon graduation, William went on to pursue higher education at Morgan State University and then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as a Comptroller in Financial Management. He was a proud United States Veteran following in his father's legacy and family history of military service.
William was a seasoned business and financial professional with over 25 years of combined experience in hospitality operations and financial management. William leveraged a strong track record in leadership roles with a proven ability to drive performance and implement strategies across diverse organizations. He began his career in operational leadership roles for international hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hilton and IHG hotels, where he embraced a passion of caring for others.
For more than 9 years, William achieved success with companies such as Northwestern Mutual, MassMutual and most recently served as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch, a Bank of America Company. William earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, as well as a Master of Science in Law. He served as a member of Bank of America's Black Professional Group and the Military Support and Assistance Group. William happily taught financial literacy courses and lead seminars with the chamber of commerce, Beulah Baptist Church and at public libraries in New York. He generously offered his
experience and wealth of knowledge of financial management services, which changed and impacted hundreds of families. William also served on the Board of Directors of the historic Bardavon Opera House, holding a seat on the Governance Committee.
William met the love of his life, Jasmin Nicole, whom in his own words "brought the fun back into my world" and embarked on a whirlwind romance where he made the "best decision of his life" when the two became united as one and married on June 12, 2022. Shortly, after the two were wed, they traveled extensively to many parts of the world including Thailand, Dubai, Japan, Paris, Hawaii and several Caribbean islands. Along with their many travels, William and Jasmin enjoyed their life to the fullest together and loved live entertainment like concerts and sporting events, and their many visits to Philadelphia to spend time with friends and family. William and Jasmin lived in Poughkeepsie, New York along with their adored fur babies, Harley Quinn Piper and Selena Kyle Piper. William was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan, the Eagles specifically and proudly exclaimed "Go Birds" at any and every opportunity.
William was a passionate, intelligent, caring and kind man of integrity who loved to be of service to anyone in need. The outpouring of heartfelt messages his wife and parents have received accurately highlight the truly unique and loving man he was known to be. To know him was to love him, and all who were fortunate enough to encounter him will deeply miss his laughter and light.
William leaves to cherish his joyous memory, his loving and devoted wife, Jasmin Davis Piper, his beloved mother and father, Dolores and William Piper, his siblings James Smith (Lisa) and Deborah Lambeth, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends, including his friend of a lifetime, Conrad Roland.
