Beatrice received her formal education in the Red Springs North Carolina Public School System. She was employed as a day-care worker.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband (Ray Charles); one son (Larry); her parents (Thomas, Flora); three sisters (Annie Lee, Margaret, Virginia), and two brothers (Eugene, William).
She is survived by three sons, LeVerne Carter (Debra) of Houston, Texas, Charles Martin-Stanley (Barbara) of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Anthony Stanley (Robin) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Merita Davis of Red Springs, North Carolina, Pamela Stanley of Philadelphia, and Carmella Wells (Robert) of Roslyn, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Dusty, Ronnie, Charles, Steve, Sheree, Alexis, Tony, Robert, Christian; one brother, Lynwood Carter (Claudine) of Glen Burnie, Maryland; and one sister-in-law, Lorraine Morton of Atlantic City.
In addition, there are great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
