Alice Rebecca Ames was born on October 2, 1947 in Northampton County, VA. Her

work was completed on earth on August 7, 2022. She was the third child of the late

Frank and Margaret Smith. Alice was educated in the Northampton County Virginia

School System.

Alice married Richard Ames in 1962 and from that union they had 2 daughters. The

late Alice Victoria Hawkins and Lisa R. Ames.

Alice was a faithful member of Heavenly Bound Tabernacle Church under the

pastorate of Pastor David Street. Alice joined the church in 2012 and would be seen

faithfully sitting by the door as an usher. She always greeted everyone with a smile.

She loved her church family, and would often be there well after the service was over,

just sitting around talking.

Anyone who knew Alice would agree that she was a kind and generous person. She

was the most loving, mother, sister, grandmother and friend anyone could ask for. She

would do anything for you. She loved to sing, there would be times where she would

belt out gospel songs while watching TV or cooking. She always ended her telephone

conversations with "I Love You."

Alice leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lisa Ames, Terence Banks who was

like a son to her; (1) grandson Demetrius Banks and (1) granddaughter Melanie

Hawkins-DeLuna (Omar); 3 great granddaughters Monica, Yalitza and Yuritzi, (3)

brothers, Franklin Smith (Gloria), Curtis Smith (Brenda), and Freddie Smith (Janice);

a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; and a special friend Ms. Helen

Ames.
